Vic: Girl killed after hit by car
MELBOURNE, Aug 7 AAP - A six-year-old girl has died after being hit by a car in north-western
Victoria.
The girl was struck by the car yesterday while crossing the road at the intersection
of Murray Valley Highway and Scottie Point Road at Beverford, near Swan Hill.
Police said she died a short time after being hit by the car at 3.45pm (AEST).
Her details have not been released.
The 42-year-old male driver, who stopped to give assistance, was uninjured.
The girl's death takes the state's road toll to 229, compared to 211 at the same time last year.
